October Updates

It is that time of the year, books of horror, fall has finally arrived, kids back to school and oh heavens above, the weather is cooling down. Finally, I can open my windows and not melt.

This month, the Deadly Realities Anthology for 2019 is available on Kindle and physical copies at the convention in November. I am really looking forward to meeting readers, authors, and people I have been working in the writing world. I convinced the husband to spend an extra day in Denver to see the Monet Exhibit that will be there until February. I do love Monet. Before we come home to relax.

I have a novella nearly through its second rewrite and edits before it heads off to an editor for a collection coming out this January, which is the start of my publishing stories for 2020. I know a signing in Kansas in July, hellloooo Supernatural fans. There will be an anthology there as well.

I am looking into a few other anthologies and short story collections while I am working on novels. I know for sure a book released in November of 2020, which has left my outline stage and into the first draft. I have been focusing on the novella that comes out sooner before heading back to finish the draft for it to rest and go into the second draft.

I am looking forward to this winter where I will have extra time for writing.

Today was my taking over the site for Deadly Realities:

End of August!

It seems like I am still working on the kinks of the newsletter and setting up the website. One would think this should be simple and easy. Nope, it is not. Some parts work just great, and other parts seem to be sending information out into the void.

Hopefully, if you have signed up for my newsletter, it gets sent to you and works. If not, please feel free to leave a comment, and I will get it sorted out. Gosh, love technology. (Insert heavy sarcasm.)

It is finally the end of August, and I have been working on several new writing projects. At this time, I still only have the short story collection up, but I am working on new content. How fun for me and then there is the editing process, sending to editors and more rewriting, ah fun.

69276619_2859923740687595_3987352886332882944_nToday was the typical life kicking in by taking the youngest of our cats Grayson to vet for more shots, poor thing. He survived the drama of going to the vet and returning. Now he is sleeping to recover. Lucky kitten.

I am heading back into writing for the weekend. I have joined up with a group of some great ladies without covers for the Seven Deadly sins series, which will be paranormal romance released next November for my book. I got Gluttony, and it has been fun to write so far. There will be some other projects done beforehand, but this one is fun since it a shared universe with six other people and learning how to juggle this universe with several other creative people. It keeps getting bigger as we work on it.

This weekend seems to be quiet, writing time for me to get reorganized to see if I can see what needs to be done first and so forth. Lucky me. Organizing.

Until next time.

Horror Promo and Charity

I have been learning some of the odds and ends of the publishing world. Yes, I have read a lot about the subjects, but now I am learning to put several things in motion.

Today my first newsletter went out after gaining several new subscribers from a promotion horror site. See mine cover, it is right there with some other excellent authors. These guys have been great and supportive with information and helping each other out. This also gives my book a wider audience, building a network, and providing new people a chance to read my work. (Insert some random Kermit the Frog hands waving in the air with glee.)

So please feel free to check out new authors, read some horror and maybe share with others. That is always awesome.

If you want to support your local author more, leave a review of their work. It really does help us. (Amazon, Goodreads for me right now since I am currently on Kindle unlimited until October 2019.)

Another group has an anthology for charity, this one is romance, but it is for the support of Epilepsy which I was given for shits and giggles and had the MS come kick it back into high gear. BUT these ladies are donating time, writing, and energy for a great cause. Please check them out:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VYB2KQB

Today’s blog is about other authors with a side of mine tossed in, but in the beautiful world of writing and publishing sharing is really caring.

Until next time.

Musings on Medium

I recently started writing pieces for the website Medium to stretch out my audience, write pieces of non-fiction and to see where it takes me. I have recently begun a series on living with multiple sclerosis, which is one of those points in my life that changed it drastically. Here is a place I can share some of my personal tales since I am not a doctor nor psychologist just a person going through the process of changing and adapting.

If anyone is interested in reading, here is the link for me on Medium: https://medium.com/@wendycheairs
