FAQ

Answers to the questions readers ask most.

Why three pen names?

Each name tells you what kind of story you’re getting. W.M. Dawson is paranormal romance and academy fantasy. Wendy Cheairs is contemporary and MC romance, epic fantasy, and horror. Sage Knight is werewolf stories. Same writer, same writing cave, same cats.

Where should I start?

Pick by what you love to read on the Where to Start page, or browse by trope.

What order should I read the series in?

Every series is listed in order on the Reading Order page. Most Wendy Cheairs and Sage Knight books are standalones.

Are your books in Kindle Unlimited?

Almost all of them, including every anthology. The one exception right now is Night Tales. Every book is marked on the Reading Order page, and new releases join KU when they launch.

How spicy are your books?

It depends on the book. Spice runs from 0 (no romance on the page) to 5 (explicit). My horror and the Richmond Academy books sit at 0 to 1, while my adult romances range from warm and closed door up to explicit open door. Every book’s level is listed on the Content Notes page. Erotica is coming in 2027 under a separate pen name just for those stories, so you’ll always know what you’re picking up.

Do your books have content warnings?

Yes. Some of my books go to dark places, so the Content Notes page lists heads-ups for each one. If you have a question about a specific book, ask me.

Can I read a sample first?

Yes. The first three chapters of Trial by Fire, Not Your Maniac Pixie Dream Girl, and The Call of the Sea are free on the Free Reads page, delivered through BookFunnel.

Are your books available as audiobooks?

Not yet. I’m planning special editions and hardbacks first, and I’ll look into audiobooks after that. Join the newsletter to hear when new formats arrive.

Can I get a signed copy?

Signed books by mail are coming in 2027, and I’ll be signing in person at events throughout 2027, starting with ASB Book Bash on June 19 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

How can I get advance copies to review?

Join my ARC team. Members read new books before release, leave an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads, and often get freebies sent their way.

When is the next book coming out?

Not Your Book Boyfriend arrives December 1, 2026, Trial by Spirit on December 15, 2026, and Not the Chosen One in 2027. Newsletter subscribers hear about new releases first.

Can you come to my event, podcast, or book club?

I’d love to hear about it. Send details through the contact form, and see the media kit for bios and photos.

Do you help other authors?

Yes. My For Authors page has mini-courses on query letters, first sales, reader lists, content, and author branding.
